Kalido: The First Piece of a Data Management System?

At the risk of sounding all "me too"-ish, Phillip Howard's overview of Kalido sound a lot like what I had in mind as the top-most piece of the Data Management System I described a few months ago. Kalido's technology, or something like it, on top of a query router a la ParAccel, combined with an ETL tool and a database engine or two and viola, Data Management System.

I wonder who will be the first to put the pieces together...

Maybe Dataupia? They appear to have some partnerships with the types of companies you mention:

Maybe, but I don't think so. Dataupia would probably be a very good fit for the bottom of the stack though.

In this case I don't know if partnerships mean anything... all the database companies have partnerships with BI/ETL vendors. Kalido's key piece, I think, is the modeling.
